FFKM perfluoroether

FFKM rubber is often used in the chemical industry and in situations where highly corrosive media and sudden high temperatures occur.FFKM perfluoroelastomer sealing ring is resistant to more than 1,600 chemical media and high temperature of 325 degrees. Used in semiconductor vacuum equipment, mechanical seals, valves, vacuum pumps, and secondary piping projects.

Physicochemical Property

FFKM consists of TFE(backbone),PMVE(branched chain) and bridging part.It has characteristics of both PTFE and rubber,as high temperature resistance, chemical resistance(more then 1600 chemical products) ,It also has the elasticity of rubber, and its compression deformation rate at 300 ° C is only below 50%. The working temperature range of ordinary all-rubber fluorine is -25℃~+240℃, while Kalrez®7075 reaches 327℃,that means at constant 316℃ or intermittent 343℃,Kalrez® even has no harden or tender condition ,in order to avoid leakage.By touching or dipping in corrosive liquid, and Kalrez® can still maintain its elasticity and resilience in cleaning or direct contact with conventional fluids. In fact, the thermal stability of Kalrez® often exceeds those of the fluids themselves. Perfluororubber also has excellent air tightness (vacuum resistance up to 1.33*10-7—1.33* 10-8pa), high cleanliness and ion resistance. These characteristics are also widely used in the semiconductor industry. Perfluorinated rubber is often used in the chemical industry and the occasions where the strong corrosive medium suddenly becomes high temperature.

Application

Kalrez® sealing products have been widely used by manufacturers of gas turbine engines for aircraft propulsion systems and by industry and the marine industry.

Military, commercial and corporate aircraft using Kalrez® parts include the A-10, F-15, B-2, C-5, BAe146 and Cessna Citation series aircraft. Kalrez® parts are also used in the US space shuttle (Space Shuttle Atlantis), ballistic missiles (Titan II, MX), booster rockets (Atlas, Thor-Delta) and helicopter engines. In the oil drilling industry, since 1976, over 50,000 Kalrez® V-Rings have withstood the harsh drilling environment without a failure report.
